Press Release Sent 9/3/10:
"Right to Life of Central California Condemns the Vandalism
of the Madera Planned Parenthood Clinic"
FRESNO, CA – Right to Life of Central California (RLCC), one of the largest pro-life organizations west of the Mississippi, yesterday condemned the vandalism of the Madera Planned Parenthood clinic.
Right to Life of Central California unequivocally condemns any acts of violence or vandalism regardless of motivation. We have an inclusive view of life rights – that ALL human beings, whether unborn babies or abortionists, have the unalienable right to life. The pro-life movement works to protect the right to life and increase respect for all human life. The unlawful use of violence and vigilantism is directly contrary to that goal.
Kyle Goddard directs RLCC’s 40 Days for Life campaign, an annual peaceful prayer vigil outside of Planned Parenthood. He said, "acts of violence like what has happened in Madera are a clear reason why our valley must unite as a community of peace. Through compassion, prayer, and gentleness, we can change our valley from a culture of violence to become a city of peace. 40 Days for Life operates through kindness and compassion to achieve this goal. On behalf of the Fresno 40 Days for Life Leadership Team, we extend our prayers and best wishes for the health and safety of the Central Valley Planned Parenthood staff, and our disgust for the act of thoughtless violence committed in Madera yesterday."
“Abortion will not end because of petty acts of vandalism,” said Josh Brahm, Director of Education & P.R. for RLCC. “Abortion will end when enough people realize that unborn children are living human beings that shouldn’t be discriminated against just because they’re smaller and less developed.”
“My thoughts and prayers are with the staff of the Madera Planned Parenthood,” said Executive Director Jonathan Keller. “While we may disagree on this issue of abortion, we can all certainly agree that cowardly acts of violence like what happened on Thursday have no place in our society and are a threat to both civil discourse and peaceful solutions to the tragedy of abortion.”
RLCC has always been involved in peaceful, legal activities to protect human lives threatened by abortion, infanticide and euthanasia. We always have and will continue to oppose any form of violence to fight the violence of abortion. RLCC has always had a policy of forbidding violence or illegal activity by its staff, directors and volunteers. RLCC’s sole purpose is to protect innocent human life.
RLCC will continue to work through educational activities to ensure the right to life for unborn children, people with disabilities and the infirm and elderly. RLCC will continue to work for peaceful solutions to aid pregnant women and their unborn children. These solutions involve helping women and their children and do not involve violence against any person or facility.
Right to Life of Central California is a non-profit, non-partisan, non-sectarian organization whose fundamental purpose is to restore societal respect and effective legal protection for all human beings from fertilization until natural death. Originally founded in 1971, RLCC is one of the largest pro-life organizations west of the Mississippi. With offices in Fresno and Visalia, they serve more than four counties as Central California’s major pro-life organization and reach thousands nationwide through podcasts and YouTube videos.
